This is a wonderful hotel. Service was superb, rooms were individually decorated with tremendous artistic flair, hidden bottles of Ardbeg whisky awaited our investigation and if I could rate it 6 star I would. Because we were 3 rooms and wanted to stay 4 days the online booking system couldn't accommodate us. In reality it could have, so I recommend you call when making a booking. This is a unique and wonderful hotel. A complete surprise.

We managed to snag a last-minute reservation for two at Ardbeg House in Islay, and it was an unforgettable evening. The setting is warm and welcoming, with a vibrant atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The bar is truly exceptional—second to none on the island—and set the tone perfectly for our dinner. The service throughout was excellent: attentive, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic. Each course was phenomenal, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. While you can tell they’re still working through some of the natural new-opening details, the experience was seamless and thoroughly enjoyable. We finished with dessert, which was every bit as impressive as the rest of the meal—a perfect way to end the night. Ardbeg House is already a must-visit on Islay, and I can’t wait to come back.

It would be nearly impossible to overstate just how lovely Ardbeg House is. Every facet of my partner and I's stay in early October was absolutely top notch, from the welcoming and thoughtfully designed room to the warm and helpful staff members. Our first night there, we had quite the travel day and ended up arriving right before our dinner reservation in the Signature restaurant. Moira, having called to check in with us while we were on the road, was prepared the moment we arrived and whisked us to our table before she kindly took our bags up to our room. After a delicious dinner, my boyfriend decided the moment was right to propose! As it turns out, we were their first onsite engagement! - Ellie went above and beyond for us in a big way. For example, since the distillery was closed over the weekend, she hosted a tasting at the hotel and tailored the whiskys she selected to us perfectly. Additionally, she arranged an engagement photoshoot for us with a local photographer! - To close this out, I would just like to say a huge thank you to both Moira and Ellie, as well as Lindsay and Seb. We had a perfect stay and will be talking about it to anyone who will sit still long enough to listen for years to come.

Loved being immersed in the weird and whimsical of Ardbeg. We stayed in the Fèis Room. The room art and decor was incredible. The service at both the bar and restaurant were out of this world. They truly have the best cocktails in Islay. We eloped on Islay and everyone made our stay truly magical. A must visit on Islay.

Ardbeg House is an incredible place to stay with rooms, dining and drinks you won't soon forget. You can tell so much care and detail goes into every piece. Moira went above and beyond to make our stay, she's the definition of hospitality. A big thanks to Ellie for the wonderful tasting and her knowledge on all things Ardbeg. She and Seb are both fantastic behind the bar for drinks and conversation. If you love Scotch and a good time, this is a must visit.

Incredible stay (Monster Room) + meals at Ardbeg House. The rooms have un-paralled attention to detail, every single piece clearly chosen with care and completely unique. The oddness enhances how cozy the rooms feel, and the furniture is very high-quality (read: the bed and couch are super comfy)! I had breakfast once and dinner twice at the restaurant, and dinner in particular was some of the best dishes I've had in 2025. The venison sirloin was perfectly tender, the carrot and potato cakes were well cooked and nicely spiced, and the local crab and seasonal berries were beautifully fresh and bright. My travel plans got disrupted, and the staff were so kind and helpful in navigating bag storage and unexpected meal timing. I can't wait to go back!

Managed to snag a last minute dinner reservation at Ardbeg House restaurant. Customer service was fantastic and the restaurant itself was very cool and funky. The meals we ordered were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend stopping in for a lovely dinner. The only hiccup we encountered was I noted to the waitstaff that I have an anaphylactic allergy to salmon, she assured me it would be fine as there was no salmon on the menu. The same staff member took my order for the scallops as an entree and failed to mention the salmon roe under the scallops. Luckily for me my fiancée tried them first and notice. Similarly the amuse-bouche was a salmon dish that was served to me. In saying that the lamb main and beetroot tart I ordered were outstanding.

Called in on the way back from Ardbeg Distillery for a couple of drinks and later in the evening for a meal. An absolutely stunning place, a wonderful bar and an amazing restaurant. The food was first class, complimented by the friendly, professional staff. An absolute must visit if you're in Port Ellen.
